Harry H. Anderson Research Library

Waltz into the Harry H. Anderson Research Library to learn about your family or local history. Also known as The Research Library of the Milwaukee County Historical Society, you will find over 10,500 cubic feet of records containing immigration documents, court records, coroner’s inquests, marriage requests, and jail and probate records.
The library is home to over 3,000 manuscript collections of Milwaukee businesses, organizations, and individuals and over one million photos.
Ensure you bring a pencil and notepad because all materials stay in the library; nothing may be checked out.

Milwaukee Public Library Central Branch

The whole city and the greater Milwaukee area use the gigantic collections of the Central Library. People of all ages and walks of life visit the Renaissance-style library daily for school and work, sift through shelves of classic and bestselling titles, and access a computer.

Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library

The Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library (WTBBL) has audiobooks and Brailled materials for Wisconsinites who “cannot read or use regular print materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical limitations.” The WTBBL rotates audiobooks and braille materials about Wisconsin, Wisconsin authors and carries audio-described DVDs.
