Sendik’s Fresh2GO Marquette
The Balistreri family left Sant’Elia, Sicily, in 1926 and sold produce from horse-drawn wagons in northeast Milwaukee. Tom Balistreri, known as Grandpa and Mr. B, opened his third Sendik’s in 1949.
His sons, Ted and Tom Jr., oversaw business operations in the early 1970s before adding groceries, meat, deli, dairy, bakery, wine, and spirits in 1975. Third-generation family owners celebrated Sendik’s 95th anniversary in 2021.
